updates

October 3rd, 2026

It's been quite a journey with this revamp, but it is finally happening — and I couldn't be more pleased with the result. I wanted this version to feel considerably more delicate, understated, and refined in its overall presentation. You can find a little more insight into my thoughts behind the new theme in the site section.

Overall, this version represents something of a complete metamorphosis compared to the beautiful previous layout, which served as the introductory version of RouteVenus.net. This transformation has been in the making for several months, and it feels incredibly satisfying to finally see everything come together after such a long and gradual creative process. I have made substantial changes throughout the entire site, although there are still a handful of pages, details, and smaller refinements that I would love to revisit sometime soon-ish.

One of my greatest sources of inspiration throughout this process was the wonderful layout marathon "Our Kingdoms Eternal Site Marathon", initiated by the ever-so-talented Lethe. It genuinely became one of my biggest sources of motivation while working on this version, and I absolutely loved being part of it. On that note, I'm also currently in the process of putting together a very simple separate updates page, which I miiight end up launching rather unexpectedly — or perhaps quietly under the radar, lol.

I struggled quite a bit with the overall header in particular, as I wanted to create something that felt simultaneously pastel-inspired and reminiscent of watercolor, while still complementing the beautiful artwork featured within the design. I was therefore incredibly happy to come across so many lovely watercolor-inspired resources — all of which are, of course, linked within the credits section. Finding those little elements honestly helped keep the creative process going whenever I felt stuck.

In the end, I truly love how everything came together. There is something wonderfully soft and almost dreamlike about this version, and I am simply very happy with the final result.

That being said, there are already a few layout revamps planned for some of my fanlistings that I would still love to realise sometime soon-ish. But then again, there will probably always be little tweaks, additions, and changes happening somewhere across the site — which, I suppose, is part of the charm of maintaining a personal website in the first place. ⋆˚౨ৎ ⋆.˚
